From Peanuts to the Pressbox: Insider Sports Stories from a Life Behind the Mic By: Eli Gold

From Peanuts to the Pressbox is the autobiography of Eli Gold, who is not only a fan, he is also a well-known commentator. He takes us through various events and stories that have happened during his days as a commentator. Mr. Gold starts at the beginning with some of the first sporting events he attended and takes the reader through his days of being a professional commentator.

I thought the author did a good job of keeping the reader interested and involved in the book. I am not a big football or hockey fan, but Eli Gold managed to keep my attention throughout the book. I enjoyed reading all the stories and quips that were included in the book. They helped keep the book moving and kept me interested. Mr. Gold made me think about the life behind the announcers you hear on the radio and television. I feel like the book lagged in some places, but overall, it was an enjoyable read. I would rate this book 3.5 stars out of 5. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Eli Gold’s works or who enjoys reading interesting stories about events that happen in professional sports.
